KITTY SHEPHERD EXHIBITION

I am a big fan of ceramics and some of the best I have seen, and lust, after is the work of Kitty Shepherd,
she will be exhibiting her work at the Zimmer Stewart Gallery in Sussex
from 2 - 30th May 09, along side the paintings of Barbara Macfarlane.

Kitty demonstrates an exceptionally high level of expertise in her work; she hand builds forms in earthenware clay and paints with coloured slips onto an unfired surface.
This technique has been used for centuries.
see what I mean... they are stunning.

ART2GETHER WORKSHOPS

A friend of a friend
is starting up these courses

Professional teacher Linda Ebbett of Art2gether believes in demystifying art. Her professional art and craft classes offer opportunities for parents and their children to get creative and have fun together.

Art2gether provide all the materials. They even supply juice and homemade cookies in the well-earned break. Best of all everyone gets to take home their own piece of art work!

This August they are holding two summer workshops in Petersfield.
The first - called "MINI BEASTS" - on 4 August will focus on ladybirds, honeybees, butterflies... anything your imagination can dream up. The workshop is being held in the garden room and lovely gardens at Winton House, High Street, Petersfield.
The second summer art and craft event is being held on 20 August in the first floor studio room at Petersfield library in The Square.

He has exhibited in UK including Flowers Central, Cork Street, London (Small is Beautiful 2004-2008), the Mall Galleries (The Discerning Eye 2004 & 2006), and also in USA including Silas Marder Gallery, Bridgehampton (The Big Show, 2008 & 2009) and New York Affordable Art Fair, 2007. His work is in public including Haringey Arts Council and University of Brighton and private collections in the UK, the Netherlands and USA.

Nicholas Wriglesworth's work is concerned with city and landscapes. He can work equally on large or small canvases.

The scenes shown rarely include people, although there is evidence of them in the form of lights in buildings and cars on the road.
Dramatic light is a key interest in the work, as well as a tendency to find high view points.
