TEENAGE CANCER TRUST POSTCARD AUCTION
Hi all, have been away from blogger for a little while, sorting out the 'sale of my greetings cards' on line, see web site for full details.... paypal account all set up so ready for business.
Also have been asked to do a 'postcard' size pic for the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity that both my hubby and I are very keen to support.
I have asked a few of our local artists to help and get on board and Chris May has already sent me his. It is on very textured paper and is utterly fab.
On Friday 8th August, a Postcard Auction is being held at Margate Harbour Arm Gallery in aid of Nicole’s Fund. Nicole’s Fund hopes to raise £50,000 to go towards building a Teenage Cancer Trust Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital. Nicole is a really special young lady, who at the age of 11 was diagnosed with cancer. She has survived two relapses and a stroke that has left her wheelchair bound, blind and almost completely deaf. Nicole was treated at the Royal Marsden on many occasions and she would love to have benefited from treatment in a Teenage Cancer Trust unit.
We’re aiming to collect about 100 postcard-sized pieces of work on 6” x 4” card, or in fact any on medium at all. They will be displayed for a week or so before the auction in the Margate Harbour Arm Gallery. The work will be anonymous but the list of artists will be displayed, so people will have to guess who they think did each one. All the work will then be auctioned for Nicole’s Fund. Only when the piece has been sold will the new owner find out who the artist was.
Other artists on board include Tracey Emin, Timothy Spall and Brenda Blethyn.
